This process finally focused on the local source of the enterprises expected to populate the diversified economic sectors, and whether youth owned enterprises could be incubated, accelerated and given comprehensive business support to take full advantage of the new economic dispensation. From this, Infers Group developed a number of products and services aimed at multiplier effects and economies of scale.
Dira Digital Platform
Dira is a digital platform that networks people’s expertise and collaborative projects. The website is a platform for sharing expertise and technocracy in the city and presents an element of social cohesion and cooperation. Its unique features are that it primarily networks people with expertise and experience, creating bidirectional relationships between entities like universities and the society. It facilitates a “plug-and-play” environment in which projects and IP matching and management become simpler.
The platform “Africanises” the current model of social and professional networks, and allows them to be raised to the level of project collaboration. It manages IP protection and has simple and intuitive project planning and projection tools. These tools form the basis of the searches and the themes of the communications that happen in a network. It is a relational database where searches can be finally weighed according to project criteria. Once populated, the platform becomes the communication format throughout the lifetime of projects.
Arting Health for Impact (2017 -2019)
Arting Health for Impact is an international collaborative public engagement partnership between Botswana (Infers Group PTY Ltd), South Africa (Interfer PTY Ltd) and India (Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance - a partnership between Wellcome Trust and the Indian Government’s Department of Biotechnology). The project united artists, biomedical practitioners, NGOs and communities in the co-creation of health-focused street art installations that inspire the public, trigger social dialogue, challenge science and the community and unpack scientific concepts in a unique and thought provoking way. The project ran simultaneously in all partner countries (South Africa, Botswana and India) providing invaluable insight into how cross-country public engagement collaborations can work.
